Digital geologic map of Yellowstone National Park, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming and vicinity

The geology coverage was developed from the 1972 USGS Geologic Map of Yellowstone National Park. It contains polygons of bedrock formations, dikes, and faults. Errors in the 1972 map were corrected and an area outside the Park boundary on the west and south was added. Attributes attached to each polygon include a formation code, formation name, formation age, and a generalized unit name. Line attributes include water, contacts, and faults. Updated information includes a break down of Tertiary, and Quaternary volcanic rock units.

Geologic map of the Colonial Beach South 7.5-minute quadrangle, Virginia

The Open-File Report includes a geologic map with cross section, and composite stratigraphic section of the Tertiary stratigraphy and of the Quaternary stratigraphy. The Tertiary map units are presented and interpreted for erodability and derived surficial deposits. The map area contains the George Washington Birthplace National Monument. The map facilitates the interpretation of the natural history of the Park including processes such as bog (wetlands) formation and coastal erosion. Two cores of Holocene estuarine deposits are sited on the map. They present the transition from terrestrial to estuarine depositional environments.

Ground-water levels in Arkansas, Spring 1990

Groundwater level measurements were made in 553 wells in Arkansas in the spring of 1990. These data are listed in tables by aquifer; then by county. For each surface, the altitude of the land surface, the data measured, the depth to the water surface, and the altitude of the water surface are reported. Also reported are the net changes in water levels between 1989 and 1990 and between 1985 and 1990. This report also contains maps showing the average water level change, by county, between the years 1985 and 1990 for the aquifers in the Quaternary deposits and the Sparta and Memphis Sands. Hydrographs are included for selected wells completed in the aquifers in the Quaternary deposits and the Sparta and Memphis Sands. (USGS)
