Cartographic projection procedures for the UNIX environment; a user's manual
A tutorial description of the general usage of the cartographic projection program proj (release 3) along with speci c cartographic parameters and illustrations of the ap- proximately 70 cartographic projections supported by the program is presented. The program is designed as a standard Unix lter utility to be employed with other pro- grams in the generation of maps and charts and, in many cases, used in map digitizing applications. Tables and shell scripts are also provided for conversion of State Plane Coordinate Systems to and from geographic coordinates.
